Most people assume that seasonal jobs are only for stockers and cashiers at retail stores. This line of thinking can end up leading you to missing out on some great opportunities. Whether you want to make some extra cash during the holiday season, or you’ve been out of work and want to break out of the unemployed rut, these seasonal positions can do a lot for you.
Just about every industry needs help during the holiday season. Small retailers will typically try to increase their outside sales during this time. If you have a background in outside sales this can be a great way to earn some extra money and network for the rest of the year. If you don’t mind working in commission based jobs these seasonal positions can be an easy way to add extra income to your wallet.
Not only will seasonal positions help your bank account, it can be a great way to add experience to your resume. Since a lot of employers are reluctant to hire someone who has been out of work for a while, the seasonal sales jobs will break that empty space on your resume and automatically make you more desirable.
A lot of the seasonal positions will turn full time as well. If you get a job working in sales and do an exceptional job at it the employer is much more apt to add you to their permanent team at the end of the season.
If you need a job and want to stick to sales, now is the time to get your resume and cover letter ready. These positions will typically start interviewing in late October and start being filled in early November.
